Race 12: Great Britain
Sunday 6 July
Nothing lights up the F1 calendar like the the British Grand
Prix, and the 2025 edition did not disappoint.
More people attended Silverstone over the weekend than
bothered with Glastonbury! Quite a fact to take in...
Verstapen with a fantastic pole position, Piastri from second
and Norris third, Russell 4, Hamilton 5 and Lecleclerc 6.
Everything was set for a six way fight..... and then the rain
arrived!
On the formation lap, Russell gambled on a pit stop to change
tyres, it didn't work. Piastri got back Verstapen who's car was
set up for low grip not what he needed in the rain.
In the ensuing rain fuelled chaos we lost Both Racing Bulls,
Antonelli retired after Tsuoda ramed him up the back, Borteletto
went off and Colapinto never started.
The second safety car bunched all the cars together after
Piastri had built up a big lead. On the re-start, the Aussie
braked heavily causing Verstapen to momentarily pass and the
rest of the field almost hitting cars. Then off he went and
Verstapen spins dropping back to ninth. With Piastri now leading
Norris, the stewards deemed his brake shenanigans erratic and
awarded him a tem second penalty. Norris leads and wins the
race. Piastri comes in furious at second...... and then then we
get to third....
After 239 race starts Nico Hulkenburg brought his Sauber in
at thoird for his first ever podium! Who says there are no
dreams fulfilled in this country anymore! Fantastic!
Finally.... All the trophies awarded were made of Lego.
In The FGP...
It's a win for Kevlar & KERS, I don't say that one often!
